Awareness: That Gut Feeling Copy

Our “gut” feeling is one the most important awareness indicators that we have.  It’s more than a feeling, it’s triggered by the Limbal system in your brain. Learn to trust this instinct by recognizing a time when you felt off about a situation, and left, only to find out later something happened.  When you get that feeling it’s better to err on the side of caution.

If you get that “gut feeling” that something is off or wrong:

  • Be proactive and exit the situation  – avoidance is always the best possible outcome
  • Create space to feel safe  
  • Use the “defensive position”, with hands up and open, to diffuse a situation (this will be shown in a later module)
