Physical Positioning: Defending Attack Ranges Copy

When defending against and aggressor please keep these simple tips in mind:

  1. Identify which range you are dealing with first
  2. Keep your hands up and open
  3. Keep talking or making noise to insure you continue to breath and not hold your breath
  4. Protect your head and keep moving if the aggressor is striking at you with their arms or a weapon
  5. If you fall to the ground keep protecting your head and move until you are safely able to get back to your feet
  6. Try not to continually move backwards and work yourself to a safe exit or place an object between you and the aggressor
  7. Stay focused and never give up!
